Does Onedrive Prevent Uploading Files To Invision Board?
Hi Andrew. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, specializing in Installation, Performance, Troubleshooting and Activation, here to help y'all.
Be enlightened that you can buy more than OneDrive storage for cheap (like 1.99 month for 1tb) or subscribing to Microsoft 365 gets 1tb for upwardly to 5 users and tech support. Google Drive Desktop gives 15gb free and let'south you specify all User folders - to practise that with Onedrive for more than Pictures, Desktop & Documents you have to movement their Location into OneDrive folder yourself.
But to answer your question you tin can specify which files y'all want sync'd by right clicking any Document to Choose which OneDrive Files to Sync, use the checkboxes in the menu that will open up. More hither:
https://www.groovypost.com/howto/select-onedriv...
In that location are checkboxes for every single file to choose whether y'all want information technology uploaded or not.
OneDrive may have fabricated changes to Settings without your cognition, so go over them now to decide if they are what y'all want:
If the Binder Protection Backup is chosen in OneDrive Settings > Backup Tab, and then the User Documents, Desktop and/or Pictures folders will be moved into the OneDrive binder to sync to OneDrive and (if y'all want) your other devices. See Binder Protection details here to understand more and brand changes if desired:
https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/116029-turn...
Then at that place is another setting for Pictures in OneDrive Settings > Backup > Automatically Salve Photos & Videos to OneDrive.
Likewise in Windows Settings > Devices > Autoplay make sure each Device listed is changed in the dropdown menu to Salvage to Photos app, unless you want them saved to Onedrive.
Another setting designed for smaller hard drives removes files from the hard drive and stores them only in the cloud if Files On Demand is called in OneDrive Settings. This feature is described here:
https://www.pcworld.com/article/3233488/windows...
If you don't want Files on Demand then after disabling information technology, allow it to download all the files back to the hard drive before disabling Fill-in Folder Protection.
I hope this helps. Feel gratuitous to inquire dorsum whatever questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

How-do-you-do Greg,
Thank you for your prompt response and attempt to assist. I really demand information technology.
I spent a off-white amount of time phrasing my question and I'k not certain how to further analyze it.
I apologize if these are wrong, but I am defining:
Downloading: Moving files from the deject storage (OneDrive) to my local difficult bulldoze. (Cloud to Local)
Uploading: Moving files from my local difficult drive to cloud storage (OneDrive). (Local to Deject)
Regarding your proposed solutions:
ane) Buying more storage at $7 a calendar month is ultimately a band-assist solution. Every bit long equally these programs continue to apply "Documents" as a storage location, this problem volition continue to crop up. I requested that the programmers for i of the offending programs change that behavior, but I expect yelling at a wall will accomplish comparable or likely even superior results.
two) As I tried to explain, the Settings\My Account\Choose Folders pick does not address the behavior I need to adjust. S\MA\CF is downloading behavior (Cloud to Local). It stops files that have already been uploaded from being downloaded. I need to prevent folders from existence uploaded (Local to Cloud).
3) OneDrive Backup is at least the correct management (Local to Deject), only withal doesn't address the issue. Some of my music files have non-English file names. Microsoft won't dorsum those up considering of reasons, so I backup my files using a more robust program.
4) All other solutions are also unsuitable because they all address Downloading (Cloud to Local) behavior. I am here because all the solutions that I've found online, assuming they leave OneDrive enabled, just address the downloading behavior. Everyone only rushes out the S\MA\CF solution, declares victory and goes dwelling house.
Ultimately, Microsoft has hijacked my "Documents" folder and is once over again telling me how I want to use my estimator. I recollect that as long every bit Microsoft insists on uploading the "Documents" and "Photos" folders, which is non really a bad plan, they need to provide an option to exclude folders from being uploaded to OneDrive. I suggested equally much to Microsoft, merely doing so is simply a larger-magnitude version of the wall-yelling beliefs.
I apologize for my frustration. Information technology is directed at big G, not at yous.
Andrew

Microsoft does not insist on uploading any folders to OneDrive, that is completely optional and configured as I explained in my reply twice, complete with an illustrated tutorial: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/116029-turn...
To exclude files or folders in Documents or Pictures prepare for OneDrive Backup from being uploaded to OneDrive is non yet possible. There are some workarounds I found here:

Obviously information technology should non be this complicated, so If you desire to limited your stance on this to Microsoft utilise the Feedback Hub app in Start Bill of fare where developers are tasked to process consumer feedback. They volition non even encounter information technology hither. This is a tech forums staffed mostly by volunteers trying to help others with your bug.
If you want to limited your opinion on this and you're a Windows Insider you can also exercise then in the Windows eleven Insider forums here which is monitored past developers:
